Right now, I'm reading BLESSING THE BOATS by Lucille Clifton, THE COLOSSUS by Sylvia Plath, and ONCE I GAZED AT YOU IN WONDER by Jan Heller Levi. I bounce from book to book, finding each informing my work in its own way.
Just started Francine Prose's "A Changed Man" (so far, pretty great)--just finished Chabon's "Wonder Boys" (very good)--halfway through Steinbeck's "Cannery Row" (very good, and preparing to move out west)...
[had to repost this--originally, I accidentally typed "Prancine Prose"!)
Justin: I love that there are people out there who actually read poetry books!
John: Wonder Boys is one of my all-time favorite novels. I also love the film. ... When we were living in Seattle, Annie missed California so much she read almost all of Steinbeck's ouvre. ... Francine Prose was supposed to visit our campus in Sept. 2001, but then 9-11 happened and she couldn't get a flight out ...
Hey cousin! I didn't you know you blogged. But I only see one entry in your blog...are you gonna pick it up soon?! :)
I love Barbara Kingsolver. I've read all her novels (I think The Poisonwood Bible is brilliant) and some of her nonfiction books (really enjoyed Small Wonder). Haven't read that one, though. Do you recommend it?

Love your list, Isaiah. It's cool how reading doesn't have to be a linear experience.
I'm reading Frank O'hara: Selected Poems.
